Cooking Lessons in Atlanta- A chef's perspective
A lot people think that cooking is easy and something anyone can
just pick up, which is that main problem with the Chef profession.
In the Chef industry, there are a lot of people that just don't
know how to cook. I've worked with chefs in supposedly fine dining places that
were really bad cooks. Also, people in general think that being a chef is a low
position job. People are not willing to pay for a good chef to cook for them.
Most people don't even know how to differentiate between good food and bad
food. Unfortunately, in the U.S, efficiency and price are more valuable than
quality.
So, if you are looking to learn how to cook good food, Atlanta
Personal Chef Service is probably the best place for you to learn other than a
culinary school. They have well respected chefs that know what good food is. There
are two types of cooking lessons: The group lessons that teach a two course meals
and private lessons.
Please keep in mind that Thumbtack is not a place for you to find
good chefs. Thumbtack is one of the worst things that have ever happened in the
service industry. You as customer will have no idea if the chef is cooking from
their own catering kitchen or in their hot tub.
Give us call and try one of group cooking lesson. They are very
fun and cheap. $45 per person is very cheap. Atlanta personal chef service just
wants to get people excited about cooking, then maybe they will want to try one
of their private cooking lesson.

We Are More Than Just a Personal Chef and Catering Company
Atlanta Personal Chef Service is more than just another catering or personal chef company in Atlanta. We will never compete on price to give a less quality product to our clients. We spend hours perfecting our skills. Our food is combination of mixing the right ingredients with art. We take each of events like we were planing the events for us.
Our dinner parties is where our skills truly shine. For every dinner party that we do, no matter the size, we will have a meeting to discuss the best approach. We see which would be the best fit for the party and come up with a plan.
For our catering events, the same thoughtful process that goes into the dinner party goes to our catering events. But, catering events tends to be less formal. They tend to be less focus around the food and more focused on the atmosphere.
For weekly clients, we spend everyday going over on how can we improve our services. If the chef we sent you is not a good fit, then we will send another. With the weekly service, we really focus on what the family wants to eat, including the kids.
For our corporate lunches, our service is very professional. Our prices are very reasonable and competitive. We are easy to work with and we still maintain our quality.

A Cup of Tea a Day, May Keep the Cancer Away
I’m not sure if you
have noticed, but tea is making a comeback. If you go to the mall, there is a
high percentage that you will see a store that only sells tea. It’s very impressive,
since coffee still is the popular drink of choice. Perhaps, due to the heath
factors that teas have or the less amount of caffeine (depending on the tea
less, since some tea can have high levels of caffeine), more and more people
are choosing tea or coffee. Atlanta Personal Chef Service is here to help you understand how a cup of tea a day,
may go a long way to improve your health.
There are
many types of teas out there, but for the sake of simplicity we are just going to
talk about the two most famous:
Green tea, perhaps, the most popular of tea, is made
with steamed tea leaves. Green tea has a high amount of EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate),
which is a powerful antioxidant. Studies
have showed that this antioxidant may prevent many types of cancer such as,
stomach, bladder, breast and pancreatic cancers. EGCG is also in known to help
with weight loss and brain heath. The caffeine amount is green tea is very low
(about 25 mg for an eight oz cup).
Black tea is the tea that coffee drinkers might want
to stick with. It has (about 47 mg for an eight oz cup compared to 95 mg in
coffee). It is made with fermented teas leaves. Just like most teas, black teas
have powerful antioxidants that may prevent many different types of cancers.
However, the best benefit of black tea, according to research, is that prevents
cancer from second hand smoking (being around smoke).
Atlanta Personal Chef Service cares about your health. We
have chefs that serve weekly meals in Marietta, Kennesaw, Atlanta, Buck Head, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody,
Roswell, Vinnings and other cities surrounding Atlanta. We also do dinner parties. Contact us and give us
a try. We are here to help you making your life easier and healthier.

Grocery Shopping with Atlanta Personal Chef Service
Have you seen Atlanta Personal Chef Service's team of chefs shopping in your local Publix and Whole Food's stores? We do most of our shopping in the early afternoon hours, so that dinner is ready when you come home from work. But we also shop over the weekends to get the freshest ingredients for our dinner parties around Atlanta.
Take a look at the photo's below as we follow one of our Personal Chefs, Kym, who joined the Atlanta Personal Chef Service team in early January. Kym cooks dinner three nights a week for a family of four in Buckhead. With two working parents, and two school-aged children, there's just not enough hours in the day to prepare healthy, home-cooked meals as well. But you don't have to give up that family time of dinner each night. For many families, its the routine of enjoying a meal together every night that binds the family together across everyone's busy schedules. Our service allows busy families to return to the dinner table, and create a lifestyle of eating together, and eating healthy, tasty meals.
If you'd like to find out more about Atlanta Personal Chef Service, please visit our website here. Take a sneak peak into one of Kym's latest shopping trips. Menus are customized for each family at the beginning of each week, and chef's bring the menus to guide their shopping each day. Of course, we also always select the freshest ingredients, so you'll always see seasonal items on the menus. Here, Chef Kym is shopping in Publix, but we also shop at Whole Foods, Harry's, and some specialty stores on occasion.

Hire a Personal Chef to bring your Family Back to the Dinner Table
The summer months are just about over, that is if you have school aged children. The kids are getting ready to go back to school and that means even busier schedules, more transporting the kids around, and typically a heavier workload in the office. How do families these days find time to enjoy healthy meals together at the dinner table? Personal Chefs.
More and more families are depending on personal chefs to provide healthy, family meals one to seven nights of the week. With a personal chef, you don't need to worry about planning menus, going grocery shopping, following recipes, or cleaning your kitchen. All you need to do is show up, and enjoy the food, which is cooked in your own home.
There are a few different types of personal chef services, most notably the "fresh cooking" and the "freeze-and-go" styles. Atlanta Personal Chef Service cooks fresh, visiting clients homes every day the family plans to eat at home together. They start the day picking the freshest ingredients and then cook the food to be enjoyed that evening. "Freeze-and-go" personal chefs will visit a clients home less frequently, and one day may make up to five different entrees, which they will freeze for their clients later consumption. While this is typically the cheaper option, unfortunately the food isn't as tasty nor can it deliver the nutritional quality of fresh meals.
If you're worried that your family will be strapped for time this fall, and you're looking for a practical solution to bring your family together for home-cooked dinner every night, look no further than Atlanta Personal Chef Service. We have a team of professional personal chefs, who each hold a degree in the culinary arts and years of cooking experience, who can help bring your families back to the dinner table. Please contact us if you have any questions!

Themed Dinner Parties in Atlanta
If you’re going to host a dinner party, you’ll want one type
of coherent theme to link all the courses together. It may be a single main ingredient, or
cuisine of a chosen country, or a similar color palette. For last week’s party, our clients requested
an Italian themed menu, so we chose plates which highlighted Italian flavors
and ingredients, while offering a tasteful break from the typical idea of
“pizza and pasta.” We typically provide
our clients with a few different menu options, which they can then pick and
choose particular starters, entrees, and desserts from. For example, we’ll suggest three different
Italian inspired salads, and ask them to pick their favorite. Since all the options already are within the particular
theme, any selections will work well together.
Below is a picture of the chosen menu for a dinner party we hosted last
week in Buckhead, Atlanta.

Chocolate Challah Bread Pudding Recipe
| Chocolate Challah Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream |
Atlanta Personal Chef Service will start to post a series of recipes that you can try yourself at home. We've cooked these for clients, and they're absolute favorites. The first recipe, posted below, is a recipe by Chef Patricia Homma, who designed this special chocolate treat for clients she regularly cooks for. While Challah bread pudding has recently gained popularity among the Jewish community as a different spin on a way to break the fast held over the holiday Yom Kippur, this comforting dish is a warm treat for anyone, on any occasion.
